Consult your owners manual.

I'm no car expert but I recently got rid of my 96' Honda civic that I never had issues with. i simply kept up with regular maintenance such as oil changes, and got my timing belt replaced at 80,000 miles. The car was still in great running condition when I sold it with 175,000 miles on it. Good luck!

The car will flip on the maintenance light when it needs it for the 2007 model (we have an 07 Accord EXL) but if you prefer to be proactive, I'd bring it in for a check up and oil change every 5000 miles or so.

I just bought a 2007 EXL and love it. Not sure if I will obey the oil change display...I am used to looking at the oil and deciding for myself if it needs to be changed. Am planning on using synthetic oil to ensure that I get maximum life out of the engine. Has anyone had any problems with their 2007 EXL's. I have been driving Hondas for most of my driving life and have not had any problems with any that I owned that I purchased with low mileage. The 2007 I purchased had 100 000 kms on the odometer when I bought it. Not worried about it though, they were mostly highway miles...best kind to get on a used car.
