Default 98 accord rear balance shaft issues

took off on a job timing a 1998 accord(2.3 L) and also replaced the oil pump gasket. We didn't have the rear balance shaft secured through the service hole. Is there any way to realign the rear balance shaft when you take the oil pump off?
