I plan on getting my timing belt, water-pump, and several other belts changed in the next couple of weeks. I was considering buying an aluminum crank pulley and having the mechanic install it at the same time. The only affordable one I can find is a lightly underdriven Unorthodox pulley (~$180). My only concern is that I drive alot in city traffic doing pizza delivery, so I want to make sure that a bit of underdrive won't kill my alternator etc. Underdrive crank pulley are supposed to supply additional hp by reducing stress and weight at the crankshaft. Would you recommend this over a cat-back(I can only really afford one)?Any knowledgable input would be appreciated. Thanks!

I think this link should answer any questions you have. As far as cost vs. performance, underdrive pulleys beat out a cat back exhaust hands down.http://www.marchperf.com/underdrive2.html
