I plan on getting my timing belt, water-pump, and several other belts changed in the next couple of weeks. I was considering buying an aluminum crank pulley and having the mechanic install it at the same time. The only affordable one I can find is a lightly underdriven Unorthodox pulley (~$180). My only concern is that I drive alot in city traffic doing pizza delivery, so I want to make sure that a bit of underdrive won't kill my alternator etc. Underdrive crank pulley are supposed to supply additional hp by reducing stress and weight at the crankshaft. Would you recommend this over a cat-back(I can only really afford one)?Any knowledgable input would be appreciated. Thanks!

As long as the pulley is the same diameter as your stock one, it won't affect your alternator at all. However, if you're looking to increase performance, save the money and buy a faster car.
