I have the vehicle mentioned in the title with 245,600 miles on it. Mechanically it is still going strong, but it's developed a few quirks recently, and I was wondering if they could be easily fixed, and if so, how?First, the fuel gauge occassionally reads full while driving. It generally doesn't happen when the car is cold, and it seems to happen less frequently when I'm low on fuel. Has anyone ever seen this?Secondly, the instrument lights for all of my primary gauges have the tendancy to be unreliable at night, but particularly right after the vehicle has started, and for perhaps 5-7 minutes after that. The lights behind the panel phase between being completely extinguished, browned out and fully on, without any change in conditions, i.e. engine rpms, accessory electrical useage, etc. It appears that banging on the dashboard right behind the steering wheel in front of the panel fixes the problem for a sec, it's weird because it fixes itself when the car is warm. Thanks!

Take out your cluster and check behind it for any bad connections. Also Id reccomend switching out the bulbs for new ones, they are really cheap and easy to do. Just make sure you dont touch the needles! As far as the fuel gauge goes Im not sure, get it to a mechanic. Maybe you have a better option of just buying another gauge clluster. You can find one online at www.hondamarketplace.com , www.hondaautomotiveparts.com, or you can check out the local junkyard and yank one out! It probably is a bad connection behind the cluster. The least you could do is take the cluster out before taking it to the mechanic. Its very simple to do a simple check without taking apart the cluster.Adjust the steering column to its lowest position.Remove two screws at the top of the trim surrounding the cluster. Pull forward and out... the bottom portion is held in by 2 clips that will release when you pull. The gauge cluster itself is held in by 4 screws, 2 at the top, 2 on the bottom. They should be easy enough to see. Remove them. Rotate the top of the cluster towards you. Unplug the three connectors on the back of the cluster. Ive included pics for yaTheres an isntruction to change the bulbs.http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=661308
