Hi, I have a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer LT. I love this SUV, but am thinking about trading it in. - Live in So Cal- 26/F - no family & dont really drive people around- The accord looks better, but the civic seems to have way better gas mileage (according to what i read). I have a great job & can afford my trailblazer, but with all my other monthly bills (rent, student loans, timeshare, high gas prices etc) Im really not saving much. Its usually just another adult with me if im driving, but most of the time its just me. Im going to buy used and everyone that I know that has either a civic or accord LOVE them. I cant decide between the trade off (this is my summary from the inventory of local cars for sale):- Accord: nicer looking with leather, but more miles & less mpg- Civic: no leather, less miles & more mpgAny input will be greatly appreciated!

Well Candance, I own both a Accord and a Civic and they both have their pro's and con's. The Accord (4 cyl.) gets a few MPG less than the Civic, but it has better pick up. The Civic can park in almost any tiny space, whereas the Accord can park in some. I prefer the Accord over Civic with leg room (driving and in the rear) because I'm 5'10" and there's not a whole lot of room to stretch out. Accord - leather, moon roof, better stereo system. Civic - Smaller, better MPG. The Civic is nice for a "starter" car, but I personally think the Accord is more "sophisticated" for someone of your stature. It's up to you, and no matter what you choose, I'm sure you'll be happy.

It's all going to boil down to your needs and preferences and where your priorities are. If your priority is to save on cost of fuel, service/maintenance, and insurance, the Civic is a better deal. You don't carry more than one passenger so you probably don't really need the extra room in the back seat that an Accord will provide. If your priority is more room, smoother ride/acceleration, comfort/convieniece, a plusher interior, I'd lean towards the Accord. If you drive long distances it will be more comfortable. Either car is pretty reliable and will have lower running costs than a Trail Blazer.
