I have asked at local honda main dealers how to set the timing on my K reg ( EE1 chassis number, built year J reg ) now that the timing marks are worn off the pulley wheel. Two didnt know, & the third could only suggest taking out number one plug, stuffing a long screwdriver down the bore, & set the timing when the screw driver rises to TDC !!!! Not very accurate is it???? I understand that there should be red & white marks on the pulley, but were there not any indentations to mark the timing? Also, does this (CARB )model have any management shorting plug while setting the timing please?
This is a smashing little car, & being the unusual shuttle version, is like a mini discovery space wise! The idea of having handbrake adustment inside under a pop off cover is great, just sit on the back seat & torque it up!!! The timing set up is the only thing that banjaxed me! can anyone please help? John
