Default Is this too good to be true? A 2nd hand 2005 Honda Accord LX for only $6, 800.?

My family really want to buy a 2nd hand honda or toyota that is cheap. And this seems like what we've been wanting. But we have a feeling that it's just a bit too good to be true. Do you think so. A 2005 Honda Accord LX for only "$6, 800" That's crazy cheap. I saw this ad online. We told them our phone number by e-mail. Could this person be evil. Here's the paragraph that the person wrote: This vehicle is in great shape has 41000 miles and was well cared for by its previous owner. Options include Cruise control, ABS, Alloy rims, Power windows and Locks, A-C,cloth interior and much much more. We have completely inspected this vehicle inside and out with our local mechanic. It is in good solid mechanical condition. It also has been completely detailed inside and out. The exterior paint looks excellent with no damage. The interior is in good shape with no signs of any damage or wear and tear.Clean Car Fax and title. " Theres more but I can't post all of it.Should we trust it?It's ad online. Im pretty sure it's a private. Not a company. Just someone selling it themselves.Wat the hell does salvage mean. I dont understand the dictionary's meaning. ??????????????

yes, too good to be true. but you can have a mechanic check it out for approx $100. I'm guessing it was some sort of salvage or otherwise totaled vehicle. I dont know how deep carfax goes, but i'm sure the crooks have figured a way to beat the system. look for signs of flood/water damage, open the doors and look to see if the paint in the jambs matches the paint on the outside. Check to see if they spray-painted the wheel wells with black paint.

Yes, it sounds too good to be true. I am guessing there is either a typo (ie, it should read, $16,800, not $6,800) or it's stolen or it's a salvage title. I know the ad says 'clean CarFax and title' but if it's a salvage title the seller may be stretching the truth. Usually a car is given a salvage title when the insurance company that insured it has decided that making repairs to it after an accident (or flood) would cost more than the vehicle is worth in good condition. But some people will take a car with a salvage title and make cheap cosmetic repairs and then try to sell it for a profit. If you see the title and it's clean, I would still take it to a mechanic before buying. D

That is too cheap. They usually cost around $15,000-18,000.It has porbably been in some accident, but was fixed. Car fax does miss things. My friends Acura was stolen when he first got it and the wheels and other parts where stolen and Carfax did not include that in the report. Also, check where the car came from. If it came from the states that were affected by Hurricane Katrina, it might have been a flooded car and has water damage.

if it says something about a salvage title it means the car was totalled and they more than likely bought it back from there insurance company. the way the car is described it sounds like it spent time underwater. i would steer clear of a deal like this
