It wouldn't be hard but your better off finding a donor car to get all the parts your going to need off of.

Takes 50 - 60 labor hours. It would be better to find a new body that is already manual transmission. Easier to take the engine & manual tranny out then trying to install manual tranny to a car that use automatic tranny.

You would spend less in buying a used SI. Now the first stuff. You will need motor/tranny $10,000 remember it's a NEW motor, axles $400, ECU $700, motor/tranny mounts $1,000, COMPLETE engine wiring harness $800, shift linkages $200, shifter $100, shift boot $50, shift knob $45, three pedal assembly because the automatics brake pedal is too large to accomodate the clutch $600, hydraulic lines for clutch $400, clutch master sylinder $300, an exhaust CUSTOM MADE $1,000, a custom air intake $400, You will also need front hubs to accomodate the spline difference from the 2003 to the 2008 model $1,000, convert the car to 5 lug ( the front will be done but you will still need the rear) $1,000, and a shop to do it. The labor to get it done correctly and running will be in the $4,000-$6,000 range.
