Default I'm going to buy a 2000 Accord with trans. problems. It works fine until it warms up. Is it...

...worth 1500$? It runs fine until it warms up and then it starts slipping. The car is perfect other than that. This will be a third car for my family to have just to beat around in. Is it possible that the transmission fluid just needs changing or maybe a module or something needs replacing? The Honda place can put a new one in for 2300 dollars but Im thinking that if the transmission is gone that it would not run perfect when cold. Tell me what you think....ThanksIt only has 80,000 original miles

A toasted transmission in a 2000 Honda is a sign of an abused car. You don't say how many miles it has but if they are willing to sell it for $1500 (really cheap) I would wonder what else is going to fail and when.

1500$ IS AN OKAY PRICE, TRY TO OFFER that person at least 1000$ . try changing the filter of the trans that's what happened to my brother-in-laws cars he has the same model and year and we changed out the oil and filter and now its running pretty good.

This is probably not a sign of an abused auto. 1997-2001 Accords w/ the V-6 had an inherent transmission problem Honda doesn't want anyone to know about. I had a 97 and at about 55000 miles the trans started slipping. After investigating the site I've listed for you, I found hundreds of owners with the same issue. American Honda replaced the trans free of charge for me but that's only after a dealer wanted to charge me $7000 for a trans! Also, look into this, but Honda started giving free 100,000 mile warranties on the trans because of this issue and it should be transferable! ASK the dealer if this is true. I am almost positive it is and then I'd buy it. You got yourself a steal!!
