How do I get the plastic part off of the radio so I can get to it to take out the radio and put in the new aftermarket one. I have done radios before but i haven't done a civic.

usually, there is a screw under the HU din or at the underside of the ashtray that unscrews the entire face of the dashboard so that you can access the HU.if you wanna install an aftermarket HU, the plastic fitting can be bought in the internet. try crutchfield or car domain.
