Thanks for taking the time to read this.I have a 91 Honda Civic. Its used and so forth. Its a nice little car. But lately it has been stopping for a second. When I am speeding it the engine stops puffs out a air sound then starts right back up. Its a fast noise and affect. What would cause this? Would it be the muffler? Or the engine?

my car is new and it was doing that or something along those lines. I brought it in to the dealer ship, something about the fluids freezing up or something( it was during the winter so it was cold out). I would say just go to a dealership or a jiffy lube, good year, etc. and ask them to check it out. Better safe than sorry.good luck

your piping might be small, which causes back pressure, because my car is the same, i had so much back pressure that my bolt just shot out and now i'm running on open header, until then i'm probably gonna go do an exhaust modifcation. or you need to clean your intake manifold, you can get the cleaner at autozone ect. for like 3 dollars and you spray it inside the intake manifold valve while pressing the gas. hopes that helps =X
