Default lpg conversion...?

As petrol have gone over the £ a litre mark everywhere in the UK, the sound of LPG gas is very inviting. But I have a few questions about it...1. How much doesconversion cost?2. I have a 2.0 Honda Prelude, what would me MPG be?and finally (this is a biggie), 3. Will my car have the same power as it did with petrol. Thanks

all i know is that the combustion temberature is lower than with petrol which means there is less pressure in the combustion chamber... This means that your car will still have the same straight lime performance and handling but will lack acceleration. On a brighter note you can buy an additive which isn't too expensive which helps seperate the molecules so when they enter the combustion chamber they have a much larger surface area which means they combust easier and faster... Personally, if your doing motorway miles it would be ideal but if your more for wizzing round town I would stick with petrol... you could always get a second petrol tank fitted in the boot and pop over to france every week to fill up if price of petrol means that much to you!!!

Generally costs about £1500-£2000, depending on the car. LPG is slightly less efficient than petrol, which would mean an increase of 10-15% in your fuel consumption, although LPG costs half as much as petrol, and the power would drop by a similar amount, but unless you absolutely rag it everywhere, you'll hardly notice it.If you plan on keeping your car for a few years, or do a huge mileage, it's worth it. Dunno if you'll have much boot space left when the tank goes in though!

HiI convert vehicles to run on LPG.Unfortunately your Honda has weak valve seats and you will get what is know as valve rescession which causes the valves to sit into the seats too far and cut the clearances down. This causes uneven running and poor consumption. The only cure for this is hardened seats which costs in the region of around £600.00.With the latest injection system available there is little loss in performance and consumption. The cost of a conversion is around £1250.00 +vat for a 4 cylinder to upwards of around £2500.00 for the more exotic.LPG is great but at the moment the gas suppliers are using the fuel /oil increase as an excuse to raise the price of gas as much as 9p in the last 6 months.Mr Brown has also seen fit to increase the duty on this "green fuel" so that in the next 5-6 years it will not be worth converting.By a Vauxhall Vectra or Zafira or Astra that has been converted by the factory as these are the best value for moneyRegards JC

I'm not sure what the price is in the UK but in the US you can get a system with tank for about 7000. Now that's the top end with all the EPA stuff. An old fogger or aspriated system can run about 500. But with the ECM and new fuel injection systems you can have problems backfiring and blowing apart your intake and manifold with the fogger.
If you are able to play with the ECM you can get just as good or better mpg and performance. Timing, compression and even the spark plugs make a difference. A good rule of thumb with propane is "Lean is Mean."
CNG or compressed natural gas would be nice, BUT they cost lots more and not as efficent. Not putting them down cause I work on them too. Just not my first choice.

The idea of having a car converted into LPG seems to be a good idea because it saves money for gas, for LPG is much cheaper than petroleum gas. LPG conversion may be expensive (it varies on different countries) but it could really save money in the long run.

Hi
LPG is a good idea, but a bit expensive
And you can't park your car in an underground parking lot by the law
I will recommend on a nice DIY toy that helps to improve fuel consumption:
hydrogen gas generator for internal combustion engine ‎(gashydrogen)‎
Good luck!
