The EX-L has a leather interior. This usually also includes better tires and a few other small spiffs.Astrobuf

The EX has a 5 speed manual transmission--the EX-L has a 5 speed automatic transmission. Also, the EX-L has a better interior, etc.

The EX-L on the Civic and Accord just mean they come in leather. It something Honda did to make the Civic more luxurious and to profit of it.

The only difference is that the EX-L comes with a leather interior and heated seats.
