Default When I unlock my trunk ( 95 Honda Civic DX Sedan) , should the struts pop the trunk open a little?
When I turn the key, I have to hold the key and lift the trunk, making this a two handed operation, not convieniant if you have an armload of groceries. The car probably has original struts... could just be worn out huh?

Could be the lift struts are wearing out, BUT the Civic trunks just pop unlocked...and only open just enough for a finger to slide in/under to completely lift open...(they do not pop,- open completely)... you might want to talk to a trusted mechanic who might be willing to fit a "open helper", like spring loaded, or tension rods... this way once you "pop unlocked", it should lift itself completely open...Best wishes!

struts suck to change out side of a shop, and you need them, bad, by the sounds of it.
