I have a 2000 Honda Civic EX coupe with a 1.6 SOHC V-tec engine and I am wanting to modify it into a 1.6 DOHC V-tec. I want to take it from Single to Dual Over Head Cams. Is it possible? How can I do this? Would the benefits outweigh the cost and time? What exactly would the benefits be?

Since the block for the B series engine (DOHC) and the D series engine (SOHC) are different, there is no way to accomplish what you want to do without a full engine swap. You could probably find a B16 engine with low miles on it for around $2500.

Conversion is not practical, conceivably it is possible.You would have to machine a head to fit your block that was not intended to fit on your block. Cost would be $$$$$ or more. You could buy a new Type R for a lot less.

it possible but if you want a dohc engine with out spendin alot of money you should just buy a zc d series engine it would be way less an worth it cz it is dohc

You can not make a SOHC motor into a DOHC motor period... If you want a DOHC VTEC motor then you gotta purchase it.

you can do anyhtign with the right amount of money....but only way to get a 1.6 dohc motor in your car is swaping it....and all in all it'll probably cost you around 2500 to swap it

Just boost it, you would spend less on a reliable kit and make more power than any stock B/H/K series.
