never lighten a cast flywheel, it'll explode at high revs. always get a steel flywheel made for lightening

Forget a light flywheel, the HP you save there is not worth the trade off risk. You chance it deteriorating at higher RPM's and it may not have the weight to keep the momentum you need to stay running correctly.

You don't shave down the stock flywheel to make it lighter. Just go out and buy 1. A lightweight flywheel for a honda is usually made out of either aluminum which I have on my civic or chromoly. I have a Fidanza flywheel it is9 lbs. To install just take off the old install the new. Got a crack open the trans to get to it though.

All you can really do is re-surface a stock flywheel so that its' flat before installing. I wouldn't suggest any other lightening because that'll greatly increase your chances cracks and such. Companies such as exedy or fidanza makes flywheels for our cars. However, how light you want to go is up to you. The lighter the flywheel the faster rpms fall and rise; vice versa. It might make daily driving somewhat harder, but you can get used to it.
