Someone told me it is possible that I might need to get my brakes done. If this is the problem, How much do you think it might cost. I have a 4 cylinder 2004 Honda Accord Ex. Can someone help me?

I would say 100.00 maybe more maybe less. It depends on if a shop does it or you have a friend do it. Also you could have wore something down like the rotor if its squeaking and ringing when your driving. well best of luck to you hope its not to expensive.

Chances are that your brake pads have worn down to the point of requiring replacement. The Squeak or ringing, comes from a small steel "clip" that is riveted to the brake pad that only reaches to the top quarter to eighth of an inch of friction material left on the brake pad. This clip is called a wear indicator and upon wearing down to the point where this clip comes into contact with the rotor, creates a squeal or screech, simply to let you know that you need to replace the brake pads. Failure to replace them soon could result in damage to the rotor or even worse the caliper, and then you are looking at a major repair. Good ceramic brake pads are about $100.00 installed.I say installed because you will want someone who knows brakes to install the pads correctly and also inspect the other brake and non brake components in this area.Note: the ceramics are a little more expensive, but quieter, smoother, and create virtually no dust on your wheels. around 100-175 for a GOOD quality job. I wouldnt get premium brakes as they have a tendency to squeal more since they weren't made for stop and go traffic....good model...thanks for helping the environment. I should drive a Honda.....just love the Chevy too much.
