a lighten flywheel well if you have good engine moddifications and feel as though your revs are high then yes but you can also have your original fly wheel sent out and cut. obiously cutting it is cheaper but it just helps lower your rpms when you shift so if your running stock motor even if you do a swap it has to be moddified otherwise its just not gonna be worth it. the only motor i recommend getting a lightened flywheel for is really the if you have an integra ls motor. they tend to stay high at revs and takes a while to ower rpms so you can shift safely. if your engines modded then just go for it.

In a word "yes" IF your car has the necessary modifications to handle it. You need some sort of power adders on your car to justify having a lighter flywheel. In theory it sounds like a great idea, lighter flywheel=less reciprocating mass=faster acceleration. But keep in mind, if you change to a lighter flywheel and are still running a stock engine, it could cause your car to drop out of its powerband when you really need it. The car not only accels quickly, but decels just as quickly.

The idea behind it is that a 20lb flywheel vs a 12lb or even 8lb flywheel will let you rev faster and let the car transmission more the front wheels faster, I would say yes. Less mass to roate=to bit better accerlation and possiable gas savings. Dont go crazy and get an 8lb unless you have a built motor but for everyday I would look at a 12lb or something in that range
