Default honda accord '03 steering lock?

My 2003 Honda accord steering just locks once in a while, if I am not careful with taking out the ignition key on time.Need advice -how to disengage or unlock if steering if this happens.

call your local Honda dealer and ask them for this question and from me i will say that try not to turn the engine of before you put the gear or the shift nob into park because that will damage the transmission and if your steering wheel ever lock. try rotating clockwise in your left or right full and turn the ignition on and it will unlock the steering. hope this help.

One of the security features of this car is the steering wheel locking when you remove the key so locking is normal. Not getting it to unlock is the problem and most times this occurs because the wheels themselves are trying to turn against the locked steering wheel. This makes it tough to unlock.Unless something is damaged in the lock, you should be able to unlock it by turning the steering wheel the opposite direction while turning the key. This takes the stress off the lock mechanism and allows the key to turn unlocking the steering like normal. Before you shut off your engine and remove the key, try to put the wheels in a more neutral position, one that doesn't try to turn the steering wheel before you take the key out.Good luck!
