Default How to get maintiance required light off the control panel of a Honda Odessey. Help please!?

I have tried everything requested of me, such as taking the negative post off the battery for a few minutes & reattaching. The light just will not go off. Engineers must put this in so's the dealer will have to use a hand held equipment & charge an arm & a leg to take it off after having the oil changed. Know there is some simple asnwer to this but it escapes me.

what year is it, some you just hold in the reset button, then turn the ignition key to on position, keep holding reset button untill the light goes out, the newer ones, you have to turn it to the oil reset, then hold reset button untill it starts to flash and thenlet off and on again for 5 more sec and it will go to 100 percent, if that dont work try reading the owners manual.

its actually on your car computer engine so it won't go off even if take the battery off so for your safety it means you need to take it to your local Honda dealer for maintenance may be there is something wrong with your car. so don't try ignore this it will come back to you later so better get it maintain asap or if you don't want to spend money on it try taking it to your nearest Auto zone. they can ran it through their computer and may be they can tell you whats the problem is even take the light off and they won't charge you. its free. good luck.

Okay, it should be in your owner's manual but if you have a late model Honda Odessey here is exactly how you do it:Turn off the engine. Press and hold the select/reset button in the instrument panel, then turn the ignition switch ON (Position II). Hold the button for at least 10 seconds, until the indicator resets. That's all there is to it.
