Do honda civics have a speed sensor inside the dashboard?
I have a 98 civic and the guy that was fixing it told me that the speedometer is not working because the speed sensor inside the dashboard doesn't work. does the car actually have one and where can i get it? for how much?

the speed sensor is usually on the transmission and is electronic.what he might mean is the speedometer unit isn't receiving signal from the VSS (vehicle speed sensor). which means the VSS is bad, or the speedometer is bad.Usually the OBD-II computer will light up the check light when the VSS is bad, but NOT when the speedometer is bad.
