Default Im thinking about buying this car? 1986 honda accord?

But before I even have someone look at it it's only 400 big ones i look at the inside and the back seat was ripped and the side pannel is flaped out, if thier was no mechanical troublewould $400 be a normal price?

The back seat damage could be the result of a 5-second temper tantrum by a dog! However, if the rest of the inside - front seats, carpeting, trunk - looks like crap, then how the people took care of the inside of the car is an indication of how they took care of it mechanically, meaning not changing the oil when they should have, etc. You can run a check on this through kelly blue book on line using the VIN number, it will cost $25 but you will find out if it was ever wrecked, etc. And, like the prior post, you are only paying $400. Kelly Blue Book will also tell you what it is worth - put in the year, make, model, etc.

a much better honda model would be the Honda accords form 1990 there are lots of them out there for about $1,000 and I have 1 that has 280,000 miles on with having very little major problems since it was new...

It's an old clunker. Especially if it is a carb model. Look for something newer.
