D15B SOHC VTEC Longblock i want to buy this motor and then add dc 4-2-1 headers, aem cold air intake, and an apexi n1 exhaust is this a fast motor and can i add a turbo system to it?

The JDM D15b is a perfect motor to boost. Build with Forged Rods and Pistons. Upgrade your fuel system and run a p28 ecu. Tune accordingly. This motor will weigh much less than anything else and can handle 600 hp on the stock crank. If you are going all out, sleeve the bottom end for a closed deck. You will also need a turbo timer and boost controller. If you run over 16psi you can expect nearly 350whp. Good luck with the build. It will be very rewarding.

That is a good set up. Also you could do a ls block with a vtec head preferably a b18b black and a b18c5 hear from a gsr or type r. Making a wonderfully powerful LS vtec motor.

I dont know much about fast cars or Hondas other that everyone I know owners or works at a speed shop Ok serious the D15B is an ok motor it is pretty much in Engine terms the 92-95 VX block with a D16Z6 head. The main problem here is the bottom end. It can hold 7-8psi on 450cc injectors and chip and burnt ecu such as the vtec EX/Si P28. On bottomend parts its going cost alot to get custom made rods $700 and pistons $500 vs just getting a D16Z6 or D16Y8(96-00 EX).Its a good motor if you plan on boosting low amounts. I suggest the bigger and better SOHC Vtec motors D16Z6 and Y8.honda-tech.comhomemadeturbo.com
