It should cost about $400 (based on prices for GM cars) Honda may be a little more expensive, but someone has to pay for the quality.

ok so this is tough say but well....ok so the gasket is cheap..only like 50 bucks maybe even less....however because of the amount of time it takes to remove the head of the engine in order to replace it is a pain. so it takes about a good 3 hours...this is why mechanics charge 500 dollars to do this. i personally think if you have a friend who works on hondas and you have seen doing mechanical work on them, well he might be the guy for the job. i know because i own a honda, worked on it as well and i done exactly the problem you have. not easy, but i saved a couple of bucks doing it myself. now i have most the tools to do this so thats why its not for everyone but it depends on your skill and if you trust your work. don't let anyone tell you diffrent the price exact for this is 500...stick to that and don't get ripped off if you consider doing this.
