Default Is the 2008 Honda Fit towable with 4 wheels on the ground behind a Motorhome?

What is the set up proceedure and are there any special limitations?

Not recommended for long distances - the owners manual will give you details. A dealer should let you look at an owners manual.

Yes, no problem. I've done this with a Toyota and never a problem! Honda isn't any different.

no, if is not a 4 wheel drive than you can two or hung it up but if its a four wheel drive I'll suggest you keep all four wheels on a ground so you won't damage the rear deferential.

check the car manual it will have it. The only two things you can do is put it in nuetral with all four on the ground or lift the two front wheels and let the back wheels drag.

Yes, the 2008 Honda Fit Automatic is towable according to pages 173/4 of the owners manual. Just bought a new 2008 Fit because of that but wanted to verify first in the owners manual.

There are steps to follow:
  • Start Engine.
  • Press brake pedal and run the shift thru all positions, then shift to "D" and hold for five (5) seconds.
  • Shift to "N" and run the engine for three (3) minutes and then turn engine off.
  • Release the brakes and put the ignition switch in accessory (I) so that the steering wheel is free to move and does not lock.
  • Make sure the radio is turned off and that nothing is plugged into power outlets.
  • Repeat above procedures every eight (8) hours of towing per day (at fuel stops, etc).
Still have to install baseplate and tow bar to motorhome, but looking forward to towing the 2550 pound Fit.
