Default Honda CR-V Stigma???

I'm thinking of getting a CR-V.. been hearing good things about it. or even RAV4. but, my co-workers are teasing me. Because, they said the CR-V's are stigmatized as for asian women only. is that true? any opinions?

**** that, I'm sure they're the kinds of people that believe that their domestics are better than anything, but I have some facts you can throw in their face.First off, the CR-V has a 2.4L DOHC VTEC engine, this is extremely powerful (166hp) and honestly has the grunt of a V-6. Of course it also boasts great gas mileageThe CR-V is also available (it used to be standard) in realtime 4 wheel drive, no other small crossover has this option. The fit and finish of the CR-V is immaculate, it will have a much higher resale value than anything that says "ford escape" or "chevy equinox" on it, with those, you'll be buying a piece of crap that'll look good today and fall apart tomorrow. The truth is, the CR-V looks better at any angle than anything domestic. Domestic companies are losing ground every day due to their inability to listen to the needs and styling concerns of a customer, they continually churn out undesirable, disgusting looking vehicles (like the engineer and styling departments designing them got in a fight and everybody lost). I predict withing 20 years, we won't have the big 3 in the sense of major automobile companies, they'll just be the big 3 of straight-to-rental-car-status or straight-to-company-fleet kind of cars and trucks. As for only asian women driving them, what the hell? Who generalizes like that anymore, they're probably just trying to get at you. The CR-V is the equivelant of baller status in the arena of crossover sport utility vehicles and will remain that way for a long time, so stop listening to them, fire back those remarks, test drive one, buy it, and give them a ride in it one day and hear them sing a different tune when they see what an incredible vehicle it is.

I've never heard of that one before. I have to admit, I do think that the CRV looks a little "soft" for the average man to drive but at the same time I honestly cannot say any better about the RAV4. At the same time, if it is a vehicle you like who cares what a few people at your office think. They won't pay the note on it and won't be the ones driving it. The CR-V gets excellent ratings from independent auto reviewers and has high resale. Let them laugh at you for buying it while they buy whatever it is they want and in a few years when their vehicle's value has plummeted like a rock and it's in the repair shop on a regular basis or guzzling gas when it's not then see who has the last laugh.

consumer reports says they are good for 200,000 miles. they have a very good resale value and the reputable honda quality. friends who have them say they are great on ice and snow (4wd) and are always good for 25mpg. my spouse and i are getting one this winter.
