h22 is about your best bet for an accord

for Honda you have a lot of choices (b16, b18, b20, h22, k20, k24, or f20) your best bets are the b20 and the h22 both have a good displacement and a good aftermarket support and are easily swapped into the 90 accord (not a direct swap but not excessive modification either)

if u have the $$$$ k-series would be the best bet (K20a2-rsx type-s). or get the JDM K20A- JDM ITR.h22 is good but too heavy and will screw up ur handling.

I'm surprised to see such an easy question, yet nobody has really hit the nail on the head...Nobody has done K-swaps on the accord, and I wouldn't try it either, entirely too much money to spend on the engine, fabricate, get electronics to work and everything to line up and so on. You cannot do a B20, that is a CR-V engine, it won't work and hasn't been doneYou CAN do a F20, which is maybe what he meant, an F20 is a 2.0L DOHC engine used in some early 90's accords in europe, decent horsepower and a sportier engine, you can probably use the same engine mounts as well I believe, little wiring headache too. This applies to the F22B, also a DOHC engine that was in some euorpean accords in the early 90's (not to be confused with the F22C, the new Honda S2000 engine)But your two biggest bangs-for-the-buck are going to be the H22 and H23. The difference is the H22 has VTEC on a 2.2 L (190hp) engine and the H23 does not have VTEC and it is a 2.3L engine (150hp). For your car, you're going to have to find a 93-96 Prelude H22 or a 92-96 Prelude H23 engine, because they will both require relatively the same computer your car does, a 97-01 prelude H22 (base) will not really work because it is OBD-2 and needs the sensors and ECU to make it work.yes, the engines are a little bit heavier than your F22A1 that you have in it now, but it's okay, the swap is relatively straightforward and you'll get some newfound power. My personal opinion...go with the F22B for cost ($400-$500) orGo with the H23 for longevity and without the hassle of programing your computer to deal with VTECorGo with the H22 for ultimate power and a huge aftermarket parts following.Good luck, I love the 90-93 accords still, their body style is still sexy when done right!
