If your fluid is fine, you've got a somewhat expensive repair coming down your lane. Your gears sound very worn and although i don't think the accord has a "torque convertor" in the normal sense of the word (I'm assuming you have an auto tranny too) it could be that needs to be replaced too, since it is what is transfering your engine power to the shafts that propel the tires forward. If the gears are worn down, they are transfering even less power forward and if you seem fine at a higher speed (40mph +) I still wouldn't be fooled because the car just has more momentum for the transmission to work with. Auto tranny's for your car aren't that expensive to buy used with decent miles on them, however, the labor to switch out is what's going to get you. Don't expect this repair to be anything lower than $1200.
