Non!Check out the Hyundai Elantra SE. For probably a lower price, you can get electronic stability control and active headrests. ESC is a safety feature that many say is as important as seat belts (see link below). The Elantra was ranked by the EPA as the most fuel efficient non-hybrid mid-sized sedan. At least check it out, and decide if you want to pay more money for a Civic without ESC....Also, don't forget Hyundai's 100,000 mile/10-year warranty.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyundai_ElantraSafety features offered on Elantra; compare with Civic:http://www.hyundaiusa.com/vehicle/el.../safety.aspxGo to the library and read Consumer Reports.

It is a good car, but if you wait about 4 months, the new BMW 1-Series will be out, it is faster with better performance. The BMW does 0-60 in 6 seconds, the civic I think is a whole second slower. The BMW is reliable, has a better warranty and is about the same price with leather, nav, etc.

Yes, fun car too. I won't bash Hyundai - but the Elantra is not close to the Civic Si for performance, so that is a ridiculous comparison. The BMW 1 series will be one sweet ride, but way more expensive than the Si - it's going to start in the upper 20's which is more than the Civic Si will all the options. Go for it!

ALL honda's are reliable as long as you maintain proper maintenance, the people who dont like them are just biased for whatever reason, however, i know most hondas/acuras that came with B16's/B18's like the back of my hand, and in my opinion they are 2 of the best engines ever manufactured in the history of the world, partially because of the gas mileage, and partially because of the potential of power. If youre talking about the newer Si's then it could be a totally different story, while they havent really shown to have any major problem yet, they really havent been out long enough for someone to completely drive it into the ground yet, the worst Si ever made had to be the 2001-2005 hatchbacks, so if at all possible avoid getting one of those. other than that tho, there is no non-reliable part of any of the other Si's as long as you perform proper maintenance.

Honda, Toyota, Hyundai, they are all very reliable. It's just a question of how much do you want to pay. Honda is going to be a much faster car, all the teenage boys love to drive fast in their Honda's. Toyota is a cute car that runs very smooth and saves the most gas. Hyundai are just inexpensive cars that will get you from point A to point B.
