On a Civic I just bought, the drivers side door lock will not lock when I push the door locks. I have to hold the outer handle up then push the lock down to lock it. If I remember correctly Toyota and Mazda and other foreign cars you had to do this to lock the drivers door. If this isn't right then what is wrong and whats the easy fix.

If your talking about trying to lock it while the door is open, then it is normal that you can't push the lock down. It will only lock if either the handle(outside or inside) is slightly lifted or if it's closed. They set this up so you won't forget your keys inside the car and accidentally lock it.
