H22 or F22!What is faster.?

I'm sorry about the other answer you got! The other guy must have been drunk! H22 is substatially faster than F22! I have an F22 and it is NOT an ideal engine nor is it as boasted! It is however direct bolt-on capable with H series engines. H22 has 200Hp stockF22 has only as high as 150HP and the compression ratio is smaller! Go H22, trust me! It is the engine that I am swappuing with my F22.

i say go with a h22. No one really uses f22 engines for boosting purposes.

Mods to mods the H22/H23 is better, the F22 is limited on parts but alot cheaper campared to the H22.H22 Vtec is a better motor and faster then F22, labor is the same and share motor mounts. For more displacement Honda did make a rare H23 2.3L vtec blue top motor and is a good foundation for NA. The H22/H23 blocks piston rods can only handle 7psi. But in an 1992-2000 Civic hatchback theses motors are similar to K motors, many people call this motors the poor mans K or K killers. What main problem is traction, many people put 200whp 140 pounds of trq and have no traction so invest in some good shocks and springs, second problem is the H22/H23 trannys are really bad, many people are doing now the H2B swap which is using a B-serious tranny, what is need is an adapter plate. Problem with that it makes the motor sit higher. B-serious can handle the extra trq by the way. Check honda-tech.com
