i would like to get a round shift knob, but i do not know how to remove the old knob. do i need to remove the boot? many thanks

usually you dont have to remove the boot. see if there are any removable pieces where there might be a set screw behind.. or trytwisting... the factory put it on so if it twists off it will be very hard it could also be reverse thread too which means righty tighty lefty loosy doesnt apply its the other way around....
