i would have to say the k20 engine. it has higher torque and higher compression.Keep in mind, Honda B series engines are one of the best engines there are out there. But i say go with the k20

Neither, they are both WAY overpriced for what they deliver. That price that you are getting is just for the motor and tranny. The complete swap to be done correctly for the K20 in your car will be close to $10,000. The B18C5 will be about $7,000. You should consider a B18C1 or B16A. Either one can readily be had for $1,300, and the extra money that you save, you can completly build the internals, AND turbocharge it and have a 350+ HP street monster. THe K20 is VERY complicated and requires A TON of modification to put in this year Civic, and the B18C5 is pretty effecient from the factory causing the cost of extra modifications to be quite pricey. I currently have a 99 Civic EX with a 95 B16 SIR engine that has been completly built from the crank up, fully sleeved, head completly built, and Greddy E-manage ultimate, Turbonetics turbocharged and it holds 15 lbs of boost daily driven putting down 367 HP to the front wheels, and at 25 PSI for the drag strip puts down 497 HP. I have a little over $10,000 in the motor build, which is what the K20 swap would cost, and it has more than double the HP the K20 puts out.

well yes a K20A2 pushing out good amounts of power I say go for that, but swap will cost you an extra $2000-3000, mounts, fuel system, and k-pro ecu. but for performance go for the K-swap, k20a.org
