Default My '95 civic making crackling and ticking noises after a drive. is it normal?
What causes crackling and ticking when a car engine is shut off? I hear these noises in other cars after they are shut off, but my car does it a lot more than usual. Should I get it checked for something? I'm sure the A/C has nothing to do with it because I haven't been using it lately. What could this be?

Normal. It is just the heat expansion of the hot exhaust and engine components. No problem to worry!

It's just the exhaust cooling off. It won't hurt anything.
