Default 99 honda civic engine misfire?

This is a problem that goes away on its own after a while but shows up now and again. I have tried replacing the wires, plugs, coil, rotor and dist cap but nothing has fixed it. Any ideas?

check which part of your engine block does not function properly... i'm not sure if there are any problems with your coil since your car is still functioning, maybe there is no problem with your electricitycheck the sparkplug if they are all functioningcheck the tension wire...(but since you have already replaced it count this one as done)check the alignment of the distributor with the rotor...check the timing of your camshaft with the crank...and lastly, i don't know what does the timing gear and belt of 99 civic looks like, but if the belt is not threaded, maybe you should replace it...check that one also...i think your problem has to do with the timing of the ignition of your car...most misfire problems fall on this...

i know the answer. if it's stumbling at times and then goes a way and comes back on, it's the distributor. replace it. i have a 97 prelude sh that happened to me, a 89 crx si and a 95 civic ex. they all stumbled then goes away and comes back on. I replaced the distributor and it went away totally. when you park a car for a while, 1 month or more, that tends to happen.
