Poor engine performance under heavy load.Don't race around in your car.Drive it like a little old lady untill you can replace it.

Im not really an expert at stuff like this but i heard that a turbo is much more effective if the air being pushed into the engine is actually cold (probably because there will be more oxygen as it is more dense) this will give it a better burn. The intercooler must also keep it cold. You can even get kits that spray cold water onto the intercooler increasing turbo performance.

the kits dont spray cold water on it its CO2 its called Cry02. youll have a lack of performance the air will be hot, its the job of the intercooler to get cold air in. i wouldnt push it so the turbo doesnt kick insorry man that sucks

turbo uses exhaust gases to make boost , just imagine that hot air from the exhaust manifold going back to your engine , it can cause a serius damage to your engine if u run the car without the intercooler , poor performance , extremelly hot temperatures , damage to the engine's head

yes you can run a turbo without a intercooler. You can do it with superchargers also. It depends on how effiecient the compressor is and how much it is compressing the air. When air is compressed it gets very hot. The intercooler is used as a heat exchanger just like the radiator and helps to cool down the air that the turbo added due to compression. Cooler air means you are able to tune your car more aggressively, ie leaner a/f mixture and more advanced timing to make more power. Without an intercooler i wouldn't push more then 5 pounds of boost on a turbo and even then i would retard timing a little to make sure fuel does not pre-ignite. So if you have a boost control turn down the boost to very low, and retard the timing, and adjust the a/f mixture if need be.
