i wus thinkin the fastest possible motors i have heard of...a b18b with a b16 head cuz the head gives hp nd the motor will give a lot of torque, or i wus thinkin of a h22a which has a lot of hp nd idk what other stuff to increase the speed. which of the two motors with what setup will be the fastest? Thanks in advance, websites to purchase motors are appreciated! =]

I don't know the designations for the b-series engines, nor have I kept up with honda engine tuning, but here's the common setup for when I was interested a few years ago...The best combination (dollar for dollar) would be a integra ls non-vtec block with a b16 head like you mentioned. This was commonly refered to as the ls vtec. The ls block has more displacement (longer stroke) than the gsr or type r block, which means more hp and torque. You'll have to mod the block for the vtec solenoid though. This is cheaper and just as or more powerful than the gsr or type r factory setups. Just make sure you get the axles from the b18 block as well because your d series axles won't be able to handle the torque. The only other upgrade, if you have the money, would be to slap a turbo on it. The longer stroke of the ls and thus lower compression, is ideal for boosting! make sure you keep the boost reasonable though, about 7 psi or less, unless you rebuild the setup completely. You get more hp than the ls vtec but it's more complicated. As for the H22 swap, I've heard it done multiple times before. The only drawback is that it's hard to squeeze into the engine bay without cutting, or losing things like a/c or even power steering. Either way, good luck with your project. BTW, my cousin has a 92 civic hatch with a k20a1 with NOS and that thing is a beast.

I have a 91 rex with the B16 type R motor in it. All of the top end internals were replaced with Skunk2 stuff. It is the fastest car in the area that I live in (Palm Springs, CA). No one can beat me with it. I would go with the B16 Type R if you can find one.
