How much would it cost to replace Valve Cover Gasket replacement in V6 engine honda passport, the oil leaks and the oil is going up to spark plugs both side of valves are leaking and the firestone give me quote for about $800+ i think this is too much, pls give me idea which and where i can bring my car for best price and can be fixed.Thanks

that is way to much you need to check other garages in your area, you dont say what area of the country you live in but there are places to have it done at a better price

Do you want the dealer to do this for you?You can purchase the parts and manual instructions online at varying web sites.Keep in mind that you may or may not need specialty tools to do it on your own. Can you borrow a torque wrench in order to verify that the bolts are torqued properly?

Dealer would charge $400 to take out valve cover out, and you have two for V6 engine. if you get it done at Honda dealer, $800 sounds about right. If you get it done at Firestone, the price appears to be excessive.This is kind of job that you can do with few basic tools, a beer, and an two hour of your time.
