If the sound of your friend's car is significant different you probably have to get at least a new muffler (if not the whole cat back) system.Merely attach new tip isn't going to modify the sound of your car that much.===I own a Civic and installed the short air intake and the exhaust header pipes. The car still sounds absolutely normal until I rev the car over 5K.Good Luck.

just a tip wont do anything because its like a ring that goes over your exhause pipe i'm guessing your friend has a catback system and if not you should get 1 and show up your friend ahaha

You can either get a catback system or you can just go the cheaper rout and buy a universal muffler(which means it will fit a wide variety of cars).I have a muffer made by magnaflow on my 93 civic hatch and its a universal muffler. It sounds awsome. And also you could put a cold air intake on your car which will give a little more sound and more performance. Also help with gas mileage.haha.
