Default Did Honda Make a D15B engine with......?

I have a Honda Del Sol that I just bought. The previous owner claims the engine is a D15B that came from another Del Sol with a Carb.Maybe a Throttle Body.Did Honda Make a D15B engine in a Del Sol that was Carburated or had a Throttle Body.If so what are the hp increase when adding the fuel injection rail which was done with the Del Sol I now have.?

Nope, they never made a Del Sol with a carb. They did make Civic's with a carb. There are 2 different '92-'95 models over in Japan that had carbs; 1 single carb and 1 dual carb. The single carb had 84hp and the dual carb had 99hp. But honestly, I have no clue what kind of power gains you would get from converting it to MPFI, but it wouldn't be much. I would however assume that it would have around the same as our DX/LX models; 106hp.But it does seem strange that someone would buy a carb engine and swap it, to replace an existing engine. You should check to see if it has a VTEC solenoid, to check whether the previous owner actually knew what he'she was talking about. Here is a pic of a vtec solenoid (It's not my pic, I just found it on google): http://www.ef-honda.com/ben/OPSnVTECsol.jpgThat will be on the left side (passenger side) of the engine.ViperKilla - He already stated in another question that the engine code is in fact D15B, with no number after it. So it's not a usdm engine.

wow no no no and no. Pervouis 1987 Civic/CRX motors either came in carb or Vacum Fuel Injected in Si models. What you are seeing is what it looks like a carb could either be one of two things. a 1988-1991 Civic/CRX DX motor which where the intake manifold is there sits a throttle body or like a carb theses motors are OBD-0 but can be converted to OBD-1 and are not multi point but once again can be convert if memory serves me right motor code by the tranny should be D15B2. Now also the 1996-2000 DX,LX model came with something similar to this and it is not carb but once again throttle body and it is multi-point the engine code is D16Y7. Look at your motor codes read what it is it should start with a D if its a singal came which only carb looking throttle bodies came in other then DOHC ZC brown tops but that is another story. Any more Q's please email me
