You can expect to pay about 6 to 7 hours in labor to replace the heater core plus the cost of the core and new coolant. to calculate the total cost, you multiply the hours times the shops hourly rate----for a honda dealer it will be between $80-100 per hour depending on where you are, so figure roughly $700 for labor. The heater core is usually about $75-100 through a dealer; about half that through a parts store. Figure $30 for coolant and miscellaneous items plus the tax. So it looks like you're going to be between $800-900 to replace the heater core depending on where you go.You're not going to save much money by going to an independent mechanic. They may have a lower labor rate but it will take them much longer to get the heater core out.hope that answers your question
