I am totally curious about how much whp a F20 motor can get N/A. I built a ls/vtec N/A and it has around 220whp constantly running low 12's almost 11's. And I haven't even built the head. I am in an arguement with someone who loves FI. He says that you can't build a 300+whp s2000 without putting $20,000 into it. I totally disagree. Some please answer this question for me. I know B series motors and what they are capable of N/A but F series not so knowledgable on them just yet. Thanks to anyone who answers.

you're friend is pretty close to the amount needed. The f20c is very highly tuned straight from the factory. Doing any head work to the stock s2000 will result in a loss of power. It's headwork is that damn good. You will need higher compression pistons, stronger rods, maybe a knife edged crank, better valve springs and retainers, the valves are about as good as you get. higher lift and duration cams, Individual throttle bodies, bigger injectors, really good header, and exhaust (no catalytic converter and staight pipe), bore, now you can flow bench and port and polish and then you need really, really good tuning and you will probably run mid to high 300's on race gas and low 300's on street gas. And you will have spent plenty of money. And have a car that blackens the sky with horrible emissions, it will have trouble idleing, it will be a race engine.the only replacement for displacement is forced induction. You have to remember that the s2000 engine is already built and every mod after stock will be really expensive. You could go into 400hp territory, but that would be a lot more expensive.
