better for engine - ram air intake better for performance - cold air intakecold air intakes bring in more air but are more likely to suck water into the engine the ram air suck less air and also are safer for an engine...

Cold air intakes are usually not CAI's at all but warm air intakes whereas people remove the stock airbox and replace it with a piece of aluminum piping and a conical style intake. Some go so far as to route other tubing to the wheelwell or to the front of the car somehow. Ram-Air usually consists of one or more vents located on top of the cars hood right in the path of the highest airflow allowing it to deliver more air to your filter than any CAI could and as we all know, the key to engine performance is letting your engine breathe better.

That is an interesting information you have there. Well, my brother is planning to do some modifications on his car to increase it's performance and he knows that an air intake would be a good start but he is confused what to choose between a cold or ram air intake. Having read this post, it seems that having a ram air intake would be a much better choice for my brother's car. Anyway, I'm gonna suggest it to him and thanks for this tip.
