Default On the highway, all of a sudden I lost power, air/fuel ratio gauge went out, & engine lite went

on.What gives? I just bought this used 1995 Honda Civic EX from a private party. He had a few bells & whistles on it that his uncle put on when he owned it since he worked for a Honda dealership. He put in an AEM cold air intake, a catback exhaust, and some little stuff like the air/fuel ratio gauge and an oil pressure gauge mounted above the dash. The air/fuel lights usually stayed right inbetween lean and rich, right in the middle. Now, there are no lights and after I turn on the ignition, after about 5 minutes of driving, the engine light turns on. I don't have an OBD I scanner to diagnose the problem although of course I wish I did. AutoZone only has the OBD II's so they can't help which is a shame cuz they scan the computer for free.Since that day on the highway, I haven't lost power. The guy at AutoZone said it's probably my transmission but the trans was just rebuilt at 123,500 miles and there's 132K on it now. Could this have anything to do with the cold air intake? Please help.

hmm, sounds odd, could be in the malfunctioning air fuel adjuster.

could be your alternator went out. also check your belts and see what they look like.

your MAP or MAF sensor could be dirty. If so, take it out (usually an easy job), stick it in a bag with some rubbing alcohol, slosh it around and such, and then let it air dry really well.guy above me: You know that tons of GM cars arent made in the US, and civics ARE right?
