Default Is this a good car deal for a first car?

it's a '95 civic dx hatchback with 61k original miles. The seller is an old lady with a disability and the car has handicap plates. the same lady is the frst owner of the car and se has given it scheduled maintenance. the car has minor scratches on the bumpers, but overall the paint is good (no sun-burnt spots) She is asking $3,500 for it. The car has brand new pirelli tires on it.

I can'tbe 100% sure but from the details youhave given it does seem like a good deal. If you want see what the kelly blue book value is and that can give you a better idea. I would do it.

I would say that for the mileage, it isn't bad. Especially not for a first timer car.

at first glance its a decent deal. if you dont buy it, i'd suggest using edmonds.com to check the true market value of new and used vehicles.

Nothing against elderly people but we know how some of them drive. I'm not saying that she is one of them but the car might have been beat up a little bit (hitting curbs etc). As long as she has regular service records and the car looks like it's in good shape then the car probably is. The only thing to do is test drive it and see how it handles. The price sounds pretty good and overall a pretty good deal....

.The way Hondas hold their value, I would say that this is a good deal. It couldn't hurt, though, to have your mechanic check the car out before you buy it. If the owner has nothing to hide, then she shouldn't object to this. Your mechanic may charge you $20 or so to do the check-up, but that's cheap insurance if he uncovers something that would cost you hundreds or thousands later. If it turns out to be a legitimately good deal, then good for you! Congratulations on a good find!.

nah... the Miles are good but it needs to be reduced to like 1,900-2,300 buks.... for 3,500 Id be expecting some nice racing interior a nice B16 DOHC engine with an AEM CAI from the old lady... (Btw just change the plates)...
