I works very well with the vtec, no hesitation, no pings all the way up to 8,000 rpms. Why does everyone say gas rating doesn't matter in a civic, when it clearly makes a difference.

Ok lets put all these no good answers to rest. The compression ratio on the car is about 9 5:1. Don't quote me because it varies with each year or model. My 95 D16Z6 engine is at 9 2:1 compresstion but you'r is still higher than mine. Anyhow, This is the average more or less for the single cam honda motors of that year. Different octane gas does matter because because it helps dictate whether you keep the constant compression in your engine or raise just slightly. By putting 93 octane, you are actually raising the compression in your engine, thus it performs better and burns cleaner. Your fuel is atomizing much better, rather than waisting away in your cylinders. Why do you think high powered tuners or race cars use higher octane fuel. They need to maintain their compression. Best of luck to ya, hope it helped.
