I have a 92 civic dx hatchback with a 1.5 engine....several weeks ago i heard a rattling under the hood, took me several moments before i figured out it was my main pulley from the crank was loose. i tourqed it down to spec and today home from work i hear the same noise but much worse, i get home pop the hood and the whole pulley is vibrating as if its just hangin on by a thread. well my question is, is how could that bolt come loose again, only after a couple weeks since it was fixed?

Vibration. Pull the bolt and give it a good coat of locktite, then torque it down again, and keep an eye on it. If it does it again you may have to go to an oversize bolt and re-thread the bolt hole.

Remove the pulley out and inspect the center hole if not worn out when the bolt was loose in the beginning.
