I wouldn't put a penny into it if i were you. Drive it til the wheels fall off. Then get one that already looks good.I made the mistake of hooking a Ford Probe GT up. It looked tight, was low as sh** and had dark tint side markers headers adn exhaust rims wing but then timing jumped and had to sell it cheap.Got a camaro now and don't need to put anything into it to make it look decent. Always could put Rims and Tint on as a cheap quick upgrade

Unless you swap the motor or turbo it it will never be "fast". It can be made faster than it is now with some bolt ons. The typical route is I/H/E- intake, header, exhaust. Expect at absolute best 8-10hp from these. If you hear other wise your being lied to. Please don't go out and buy an exhaust with a 5" tip either. Loud and flashy just annoys everyone and will get you pulled over constantly. Also make sure your starting with a well tuned up motor. A few hp can be lost to old plugs, wires, cap & rotor. Don't buy platinum plugs! Regular ole NGK cheapy plugs make the most power. Don't waste your money on any fancy ignition wires or coils either. Unless your making big power they won't do damn thing but make you poorer.Synthetic oils in the motor and tranny might net you 1-2hp also, again thats a best case scenario. If you want to spend some cash get a turbo kit. They can be had on ebay for ~$700. They come with everything you need except a rising rate fuel pressure regulator. Keep the boost at 6psi and your engine should live a nice long life.Reduce weight. Thinking about a honking stereo with 28 subwoofers? They'll only slow you down. Fiberglass or carbon body parts are a good place to start. But those are a bit pricey- the turbo is way more bang for the buck.

Why not just clean up the interior and exterior and leave it at that? The car is not fast although it can handle well on turns. It's an economy car and not worth pouring money into a car that old.
