The lock is connected to the brake light switch I beleive. Also on Honda's there is a release near the gear shift lever. You use the ignition key to release it.

there is a neutral safety switch on your brake pedal that could have gone bad or needs adjusted, look up on top of the brake pedal and push the brake pedal down with your one hand and push the switch all the way in as far as it will go then pull brake pedal back and see if it will now come out of gear.

Maybe the steering wheel didnt lock. Move it back and forth until it locks. The steering wheel has to be locked for it to come out of park. Other then that next to your Shift there should be a release where you can put a key or sharp object and push it down. This will automatically release it from park and let you move it around. But its probably the steering wheel. I would try that first.Good Luck

Change a brake light bulb?that is an important clue.Get someone to see if you have brake lights when you step on brake pedal. If not, check stop light fuse. The shift lock solenoid has to see if you are holding the brake to release its lock, through the brake light switch.

without actually looking at it I would guess the safety switch is not disengaging. Try to press harder on the brake pedal. Hope this helps

There is a safety device that will not allow it out of park until the key is on and your foot is on the brake. It's the brake light signal that operates it. I would bet you a dollar you have NO brake lights either, that you blew a fuse changing the bulb. Make sure the bulb is in right, then replace the blown fuse and you'll be good to go again.

check to see if your brake lights work, if they don't that is your problem... replace the brake light switch and that should fix it...
