the answer to your question is in the owner's manual for the car. You will find that the maintenance minder starts with either an "A" or a "B". The "A" indicates tne need for an oil and filter change only. the "B" indicates the oil and filter and the periodic safety, mechanical and emissions systems inspections.the number that follows either letter indicate the need for additional maintenance services such as changing air filters, differential fluid etc.the 1 = tire rotation so that a B1 is an oil and filter change with a tire rotation.2= air filter replacementso B12= oil and filter, tire rotation and air filter change3= transmission oil replacment4= spark plug replacement, valve adjustment and timing belt replacement5= coolant replacement6= VTM (4wd) differential fluid replacementYou will typically only see the A1 or B1 or B12 for the first 100,000 miles. The 3, 4 and 5 will come due about 110,000 miles. you will never see the 6 on the 2006 civic as it is front wheel drive.the intervals between services will depend on how you drive the vehicle. the car's on-board computer monitors speed, engine load and miles to determine when you need to service the carhope that answers your question

Replace dust and pollen filter. Inspect and adjust drive belt. 3 - Replace transmission fluid ( use only honda ATF or MTF) 4 - replace spark plugs. Inspect valve clearance. 4 ( accord v6, ridgeline) - replace spark plugs. Replace Timing belt, inspect water pump. inspect valve clearance, cold engine. 5 - replace engine coolant 6 - replace rear diff fluid. |

Good luck with the codes. I love Hondas and have owned 6 of them, but not publishing a maintenance schedule is a formula for scams by the dealers. What a stupid idea. The maintenance minder works off mileage anyway. Nothing I hate more than going into the service dept to talk with the kid half my age who hasn't worked on a car in his life, trying to explain to me what will actually be done on my car for $395 plus parts. At least most people can figure out what "replace transmission fluid" means. Putting in a code like B1-2 instead of plain english is going to allow service depts to scam a lot of owners out their money. Call me old fashioned but give me a maintenance schedule such as edmunds publishes for my Honda so I know when to expect a major service bill, and when to expect a minor one.
